Alison Yip’s works negotiate the role of fantasy in a post-factual world and incorporate parapsychological derivations from figurative representation. Based on painting, the artist creates wall works, texts and sculptural objects that explore the ambiguity of our senses and the ambivalent perception of our interpersonal relationships. On the one hand, her paintings create new worlds and, on the other hand, they draw attention to the surface by integrating familiar materials, such as denim with a used look, a material that stands for the imitation of time and experience.
