Karin Bubaš (b. 1976, North Vancouver, Canada) lives and works in Vancouver. Known for her photographs, collages, and drawings, Bubaš explores the construction of gender and the representation of women across fashion, film, advertising, photography, and art history. Working within this hybrid visual language, she often stages female figures in carefully composed settings, using gesture, clothing, landscape, and cinematic reference to examine how identity and narrative are constructed. Since studying at Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design, Bubaš has exhibited extensively in Canada and internationally, including presentations in Paris, Brussels, Washington, DC, and Vancouver. Solo exhibitions include the Canadian Cultural Centre, Paris; Charles H. Scott Gallery, Vancouver; and Garden of Shadows at the Audain Art Museum, Whistler, accompanied by a major publication. Her public art projects include works at Toronto Pearson International Airport and Vancouver’s Canada Line. Her work is held in collections including the Vancouver Art Gallery, Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery, Audain Art Museum, Glenbow, Winnipeg Art Gallery, TD Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, and TELUS.
